Do you want to make a difference and help flip the Colorado State Senate from Red to Blue? A state senate campaign is seeking a hard-working and passionate professional Campaign Manager for the 2018 cycle. The Campaign Manager will be responsible for managing and implementing all aspects of the field program, performing direct voter contact, and recruiting, training and retaining volunteers. The Campaign Manager will interact closely with the candidate and caucus staff to help build a grassroots community of volunteers and supporters. The successful candidates for the position will be organized, enthusiastic, and have the ability to work independently.

 

Responsibilities include:

·         Manage candidate, staff, and volunteers

·         Serve as the primary liaison between the campaign and Democratic Senate Campaign Fund (DSCF);

·         Develop and execute finance, field, and communications plans (with assistance from DSCF);

·         Manage day-to-day campaign operations;

·         Building and maintaining relationships with all partner organizations, community leaders and volunteers;

·         Any other campaign related tasks, as needed.

Field

·         Coordinate field execution at the door and on the phone;

·         Oversee the volunteer recruitment, and the development of volunteer leaders to help carry out phone banks, canvasses, and other events designed to contact voters and engage volunteers;

·         Perform direct voter contact.

      Finance

·         Manage call-time and donor follow-up;

·         Manage donor research;

·         Plan fundraising events.

Communications

·         Develop candidate message;

·         Manage local reporter relationships;

·         Coordinate press releases.

 

Qualifications:

  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to successfully relate to voters and volunteers from a wide range of backgrounds;
  • Minimum of one or two cycles of campaign experience;
  • Excellent organizational, and time management skills;
  • Proficiency with VAN, Microsoft Office and GoogleDocs
  • Ability be able to work independently and in team settings;
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and long hours;
  • Must have access to a laptop and a cellphone;
  • Must have a driver's license and access to a car.  (A car may be available for campaign manager use.)

 

This campaign is HQ’d in Southwest Colorado. Living accommodations may be available at no charge.
