With this brand-new position, the Chesapeake Climate Action Network (CCAN) seeks to expand its base of donors throughout our region of Maryland, Virginia and Washington, DC. The successful candidate will conduct outreach to and cultivate donors capable of giving $1,500-$10,000. Additionally, they will manage and improve upon the fundraising success of CCAN’s annual fundraising events. This position offers exceptional room for creativity and growth.
For fourteen years, the Chesapeake Climate Action Network (CCAN) has been dedicated to building a powerful movement for bold climate solutions in the Chesapeake region of Maryland, Virginia and Washington, DC. We are committed to taking on big fights and pushing the envelope of what’s “politically possible,” using every tool inside and outside of the box – from organizing and lobbying to the law and direct action. We focus on movement-building because we believe that people are at the center of change and that solving climate change means fighting for justice.
With tens of thousands of dedicated activists in Maryland, DC, and Virginia, CCAN has inspired countless people to get involved in our campaigns to protect our climate. We are searching for someone with the passion and skills to deepen the financial investment within a set of these supporters and help us expand to new donors as well.
CCAN’s Development Coordinator will reach out to current, past and future individual supporters through face-to-face meetings and phone calls, asking for larger and firmer commitments. Additionally, CCAN hosts fun and successful fundraising events each year that the Coordinator will manage and take to the next level. As this is a new position for the organization, we are also excited for the Coordinator to bring new, innovative ideas to the table to strengthen our grassroots fundraising overall, including new outreach efforts and/or approaches to traditional ones, supporter cultivation and appreciation, and systems management.
This position reports to CCAN’s Deputy Director. Salary is commensurate with experience. CCAN provides a generous benefits package including health care, dental coverage, a 401K, and four weeks of paid vacation.
This position is based in CCAN’s Takoma Park, MD office, just a block from the DC border (on Metro’s Red Line).
