The New York City Department of Education is the largest school system in the nation and responsible for educating 1.1 million students in over 1,800 schools. The Press Secretary serves as chief spokesperson for the school system, the Chancellor, Deputy Chancellors, and other members of the Senior Leadership Team of the Department of Education.
