Adler for Austin is hiring field organizers for the 2018 election!
Field organizers are responsible for carrying the campaign's message directly to voters through door-to-door canvassing. This is a full-time, salaried position in Austin, Texas that will last for the duration of the election. We are looking for motivated, reliable, and loyal individuals who will be part of a winning team helping to persuade and mobilize voters to support Mayor Steve Adler in this critical re-election campaign.
This position is ideal for politically-engaged and community-driven individuals looking for an entry-level job in progressive politics. Field Organizers will learn first hand about local politics in a hotly contested race and will learn the fundamental organizing principles of a campaign field program.
Description of Duties:
40 hours/week of direct voter contact, primarily door-to-door canvassing.
Daily reporting to the campaign's field director.
Field Organizers are responsible for maintaining the campaign's data integrity by accurately and thoroughly recording all canvassing activities.
Qualifications:
Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills. Field Organizers must maintain a tactful, positive, personable, outgoing and enthusiastic attitude when interacting with voters.
Willingness and ability to work safely and independently in the heat for several hours every day, including weekends and evenings.
Must have basic map-reading skills and know how to use GPS on a smartphone.
This position does not require a college degree or previous work experience being employed by a political campaign.
