Planned Parenthood is the nation's leading sexual and reproductive health care provider and advocate. The Community Outreach Group is a part of Planned Parenthood, but a separate organization that supports Planned Parenthood with short-term staffing and large-scale advocacy campaigns.
General Description
Community Outreach Group is seeking enthusiastic Deputy Canvass Managers to serve in locations across the country. Deputy Canvass Managers will assist with leading a robust door-to-door program to identify new contributors to support Planned Parenthood’s work. Along with 1-3 additional leadership staff, you will collectively supervise a team of hourly canvassers and team leaders. As a Deputy Canvass Manager, you will support the day-to-day management of the canvass office by taking responsibility for some of the following areas of responsibility, depending on your skills, experience, and interests: payroll, recruitment, supporting team leaders, training, office culture and environment, turf, reporting, and quality control.
Responsibilities
This is an entry-level role. In this position, you will have the opportunity to:
· Collaborate with your Canvass Manager to develop and implement all components of a strategic canvassing operation in a key metropolitan area
· Meet ambitious weekly goals for recruitment and results
· Track a budget to support the payroll and operations of your office
· Recruit, train, and supervise canvassers in each area
· Analyze daily and weekly reports to track progress to goals and implement rigorous quality control measures.
· Communicate and coordinate regularly with client and/or partners
Qualifications

· Knowledge of and commitment to progressive causes
· Strong interpersonal skills, including comfort meeting and talking with new people
· Effective communicator face-to-face and in writing
· Flexible and self-motivated to identify priorities and complete work without being micro-managed
· Highly organized and detail-oriented
· Comfortable with technology, and can learn new tools quickly
· Willing and able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends
· Ability to maintain confidentiality (in handling of HR documents)
· Licensed driver with access to a vehicle

· Brings some knowledge of or experience in reproductive health issues
· Knows how to use the VAN voter database software (strongly preferred)
· Knows how to use Excel
· Knows how to use Google email, documents, etc.
· Experience with hiring
· Experience managing logistics or office operations
There is no formal education requirement for this position. One cycle of campaign experience in any capacity preferred.
Compensation
This is a full-time, exempt, mid-level position with the Community Outreach Group, with an annual base salary between $3,000-$4,000 depending on skills, experience, and qualifications.
Full-time exempt employees are also eligible for a cell phone reimbursement up to $75/month, and employer-paid medical, dental, and vision insurance.
This is a temporary position with the possibility to become long-term.
