Graphic Designer

The Texas Democratic Party is seeking a Graphic Designer with experience creating graphic assets, websites, and familiarity with social media to join our digital team in Austin, Texas. We’re looking for a designer who is passionate about fighting Trump Republicans in Texas and working to build Texas Democratic Party infrastructure.

You have exceptional design skills related to a broad range of print and digital deliverables.

What you’ll do: 

• Work closely with Digital Director, Social Media Strategist, Digital Strategist and Content Manager to create assets for social media, emails, events, and various campaigns
• Continuously evolve brand guidelines to enable scalability and consistency
• Apply complex graphic design principles, theories, and practices
• Monitor social media, Pinterest, and Behance for current and evergreen content
• Design and produce microsites and webpages to assist campaigns
• Support and uplift communications and messaging for all departments
• Attends and participates in content planning meetings
• Provide key backup for the Texas Democrats website and other members of the team as needed. Provides support to other projects as needed.

Preference given for experience with 

• Familiarity with online organizing platforms and/or website CMS & CRM
• Thorough understanding of political campaign and digital landscape
• Web Development
• Expertise in using web-authoring tools and design software, such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Sketch
• Experience with front and backend software development
• Experience with both print, digital design, branding/brand identity, promotional design, and marketing
• Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite — specifically InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop — or other motion graphics software
• An online portfolio or work samples as PDF
• Comfortable working under deadline pressure, rapid response
• A willingness to work long hours as needed
• Ability to manage a wide range of projects and responsibilities concurrently
