Maya Wiley for Mayor is hiring a full-time Finance Director to develop and manage the campaign’s finance and fundraising plans. The Finance Director will report to the COO. The Finance Director will be an integral part of the Senior Team and will work closely with the candidate and campaign manager to meet fundraising goals, and ensure the maximization of New York’s public matching program. This is a cycle position with a start date of ASAP, and there should be no assumption of employment upon the conclusion of the campaign. 

Responsibilities include:

  • Manage all aspects of the Finance department including strategic planning, project management, consultants, and goal setting 

  • Develop and execute Maya’s finance plan, in conjunction with senior staff 

  • Assist in recruiting, building, and maintaining donor relationships

  • Consistently achieve and exceed fundraising goals through events, member call time, low dollar online solicitations, and direct mail 

  • Collaborate with Compliance and Budget Manager to ensure fundraising goals are in line with NYC’s public financing program 

  • Manage and coordinate consultants supporting fundraising efforts;

  • Maintain meticulous records of contracts, donations, and event plans

*All this work will be conducted in accordance with COVID safety guidelines and will be completed in a safe, healthy, and socially distanced way. 

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 cycles of campaign finance experience, or equivalent 

  • Event planning and project management experience 

  • Knowledge of NGP, VAN, Excel, and ActBlue

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Attention to detail and highly organized

  • Flexibility to work long hours and weekends

  • Ability work in fast paced environment under tight deadlines

  • Working knowledge of, or ability to become quickly familiar with, New York City’s finance and ethics laws

  • Passion for electing Maya Wiley to be the first woman Mayor of New York City

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of Numero and CSmart

  • Knowledge of New York City campaign finance standards

  • New York City donor relationship and experience

Benefits include health insurance, flexible PTO, and salary is $108,000.
