About TX-07
The road to taking back the House runs through Texas’s 7th congressional district. Long a safe seat for a Republican who
has never had to compete, the district swung from a win margin of +21 for Romney in 2012 to +1.4 for Clinton in 2016.
The Cook Political Report recently changed the district’s competitiveness rating to Toss-Up, all combining to
make it one of the most competitive Republican-occupied House seats in the country.
