Miami Tracker / Research Assistant -- Job Description:
Advocacy organization FloridaStrong is looking for a bright, eager and high-energy tracker/researcher to help hold elected officials accountable. The position is part-time and based in the Tampa Bay area.
The tracker will be responsible for assisting with data collection; transcription projects; and filming candidates, events and rallies, as needed. The tracker will share details of tracking opportunities on targeted candidates; audio and/or video record the events; prepare detailed memos on the topics covered at the event; and promptly upload the audio and/or video via a shared YouTube account.
What You'll Do: - Work closely with our communications, digital and research teams to help educate Floridians on the issues of the day;
- Search for, record and share details of events/tracking opportunities;
- Confirm event details and targeted candidate/official's attendance ahead of event;
- Film each public event;
- Prepare transcription, event memos and upload footage the same day as the event;
- Monitor relevant media developments and compose reports on said news;
- Examine voting records and past statements of public officials;
- Prepare written reports on relevant information based on research;
- Participate in weekly planning calls.
- Other research tasks as necessary.

Camera/editing experience preferred but not required. Current drivers license, personal vehicle and laptop required. College students and recent grads are encouraged to apply.
