Digital Communications and Organizing Director
A US House candidate in Western Michigan challenging an incumbent Republican Congressman who is under a House Ethics investigation is seeking a Digital Communications and Organizing Director. The candidate is an energetic, inspiring pastor and activist looking to restore integrity to government, seek common ground, and improve the lives of West Michigan residents. Responsibilities will include:
Implementing a robust digital organizing program in support of our field program, electoral, and issue campaigns (volunteer recruitment, voter contact, GOTV) and ensuring integration of program data.
Helping to plan aggressive, long-and short-term digital communications strategies
Maintaining and routinely updating all of our various digital organizing channels, social media channels with original content, including some graphics and video and other creative content.
Expanding the social media reach of the campaign to push our message directly to targeted audiences.
Monitor social discovery tools and stay attuned to current events and trending content in order to identify strategic engagement opportunities. Identify and share performance insights to inform the team’s engagement strategies. Identify creative campaign opportunities to mobilize our base and expand our base.
Analyze social media data and draw actionable insights, including regular audits, to inform our overall social media strategy.
Coordinate with our field team and back them up with digital strategy and content
Desired Qualification
Fluent with social media and deep understanding of internet culture and love learning new technologies and thinking outside the box using existing technology;
Strong verbal and written communication skills;
Possess a keen attention to detail;
Creativity and a strong desire to learn and implement ever-evolving digital tactics;
Demonstrated experience working on projects in a fast-paced environment, juggling several priorities that may change quickly, and meeting tight deadlines
Experience with digital organizing and planning in support of field, electoral, and/or issue campaigns
A good eye for design and proficiency with Canva and/or Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere, After Effects, etc.) required;
Familiarity with campaign technology platforms including VAN.
