The Tennessee Democratic Party (“TNDP”) is hiring Regional Voter Protection Directors for the 2018 midterm election season to:


  • implement the TNDP’s voter protection plan in one of the three Grand Divisions of Tennessee (West, Middle or East) and coordinate efforts with Tennessee Victory 2018 Coordinated Campaign leadership;

  • oversee recruitment, training and management of voter protection volunteers;

  • plan and oversee poll observer program;

  • establish and maintain relationships with local election administrators, county party leadership and other grasstops actors as necessary;

  • monitor compliance with federal, state and local election laws; and

  • satisfy Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC) reporting and monitoring requirements.


You will directly report to the statewide Voter Protection Director. Your base salary will be $3,750 monthly, payable biweekly. TNDP will make all withholdings required by law. You will be eligible to participate in the TNDP’s benefit plans and programs available to other employees of TNDP.


Skills

  • Experience working on a political or advocacy campaign as a field organizer

  • Excellent organizational skills and time management

  • Proven ability to work collaboratively and build relationships with diverse groups and individuals

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with experience in public presentations

  • Willingness and ability to travel

  • Proficiency and comfort with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Google Docs

  • Ability to understand and work with data

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • Law degree preferred but not required

  • Experience working on political campaigns, advocacy campaigns or at non-profits
