Campaign Overview: David Aronov, 24 years old and first-generation American, is seeking a campaign manager for a historic race taking place in District 29 in Queens. Applicant must have NYC campaign experience, preferably in Queens.

Job summary:  This is a full-time position in a crowded field for an open city council seat for the June 2021 primary.  The campaign manager reports to the candidate and has bottom-line responsibility for all day-to-day aspects of the campaign, including field & organizing, communications, scheduling, and office management.

Responsibilities include:

  • Create and execute the campaign plan.

  • Ensure the campaign qualifies for the ballot once petitioning begins in late February 2021

  • Hire, train and manage the campaign’s field director and any other senior staff and selected consultants

  • Track and report progress on campaign goals for fundraising, political support and other key metrics

  • Work with the treasurer to monitor campaign budget

  • Managing the candidate’s schedule

  • Oversee and ensure successful execution of campaign press strategy.

  • Collaborate with other staff in targeting voters for contact in-person, by phone and by text message

  • Establish a strong professional culture within the campaign focused on accountability, specific goals, innovation and sense of purpose

  • Any and all other aspects of managing a winning campaign

Qualifications:

  • At least two cycles of political campaign work, including at least one cycle in a senior staff capacity (manager, field director, comms director, finance director)

  • NYC Campaign experience is required

  • Knowledge of Central Queens and neighborhood demographics preferred

  • Language skills preferred but not required (Russian, Mandarin, and/or Spanish)

  • Strong knowledge of VAN

  • Strong knowledge of Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides)

  • Supervisory experience

  • Strong writing skills

  • A constructive winning attitude
