Overview
A top-tier Congressional race in Orange County, California is seeking a Finance Assistant to join in the new year. This is an entry level position that will be responsible for research, helping coordinate and manage candidate call time, and event planning and execution.
Responsibilities
- Work with donors to plan and execute fundraisers on a regular basis. This includes scheduling, selecting a location, creating and sending invites, tracking RSVPs, working with hosts and candidate to develop an agenda and talking points, setting contribution targets, staffing the event, and managing follow-up
- Staff candidate during events in-district and be available to travel with the candidate to other events
- Identify and recruit new donors and event hosts
- Call donors when needed to collect event RSVPs or campaign contributions
- Assist in updating and maintaining donor databases, including research of current and future donors
- Monitor goals, priorities, and report on progress at regular intervals
- Conduct research into new donor prospects
- Conduct research into donor’s networks to identify new prospects
Requirements
- Prior experience planning and executing events, ideally in a campaign setting
- Confidentiality regarding campaign and donor information
- Exceptional written and spoken communication skills
- Willingness to travel when needed
- Ability to manage many projects at once
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment
- Be available to start in early January
