LGBTQ+ Constituency Organizer
The Texas Democratic Party is currently seeking applications for the newly created LGBTQ+ Constituency Organizer position. The Constituency Organizer will develop and leverage relationships in order to directly support voter contact programs that perform targeted outreach to the LGBTQ+ community across the state. Exceptional candidates have previous experience in campaign, union, or constituency group organizing.
The Constituency Organizer must be a self-starter, team builder, and must care deeply about the future success of progressive politics in Texas. The Constituency Organizer will report directly to the Deputy Organizing Director.
The position is full-time and cycle only.
Core Responsibilities:
- Be an ambassador of the Texas Democratic Party across the state.
- Develop relationships with key local leaders of the Democratic Party, and build partnerships that support the coordinated organizing effort.
- Recruit, train, and empower volunteers to become leaders and create local teams for voter contact activities
- Coordinate with local parties and campaigns in facilitating trainings of local volunteers.
- Assist with organizing and advancing State Party & Statewide events.
- Additional duties as assigned by the Deputy Organizing Director.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Set up or participate in regular calls/meetings with state party’s LGBTQ+ caucuses.
- Set up 1:1 meetings with key LGBTQ+ community leaders contacts – covering each county in the state.
- Build a list of LGBTQ+ leaders statewide that can be engaged to support the state’s organizing plan
- Work with the Deputy Organizing Director to set up regular voter contact events
- Collaborate with the Deputy Organizing Director to give LGBTQ+ specific input on eventual field and organizing plan.
- Identify and train surrogates from the LGBTQ+ community to participate in events and press calls.
- Regularly collect stories of Donald Trump and the Republican Party’s impact on the LGBTQ+ community.

Salary: $42,000/yr
