Title: Senior Revenue & Compliance Accountant Status: Exempt

General Description
LCV works to turn environmental values into national, state and local priorities. LCV, in collaboration with our state LCV partners, advocates for sound environmental laws and policies, holds elected officials accountable for their votes and actions, and elects pro-environment candidates who will champion our priority issues.  

The Senior Revenue & Compliance Accountant is responsible for reconciling the revenue and compliance accounting process for the LCV family of organizations. As an environmental advocacy organization, much of the revenue the organization receives is subject to state and federal election compliance reporting. This position works closely with the Development, Membership & Online Engagement and the Legal and Strategic Initiatives departments to ensure timely and accurate reporting and reconciliations.
 
Responsibilities:

Record all incoming donations and grant revenue into the accounting database, Sage/Abila MIP in unison with the Development and compliance databases.
Prepare timely and accurate FEC and state compliance reports and filings to appropriate government agencies; coordinate internal review and file when approved.
Finance liaison to Compliance team.
Ensure all revenue is received and accounted for in bank accounts.
Prepare an internal weekly revenue report.
Prepare monthly bank reconciliations.
Assist with all revenue inquiries including the annual financial statement audit.
Prepare monthly compliance reconciliations utilizing knowledge of Development Department database.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education:  Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Finance or accounting. 

Work experience: 5-7 years of work experience is required, with a CPA preferred.  Experience working in a non-profit, political organization or campaign desirable; database experience preferred.  Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly expertise with Microsoft Excel is required.  Experience with FEC compliance accounting and reporting, Sage/Abila MIP Accounting software, compliance software, and/or Blackbaud/Convio Luminate databases are plusses. 

Skills: Candidate must effectively manage his/her time to meet multiple competing deadlines often under pressure. Must possess excellent written and oral communications skills, strong word processing and spreadsheet skills (Windows, Microsoft Word, and Excel required, PowerPoint preferred), attentive to details, and adept at developing and maintaining systems and processes.

Capabilities:  Must demonstrate initiative in problem-solving; critical thinking skills; must be able to communicate effectively with members of the Finance Team as well as staff members of other departments and vendors; self-starter, ability to juggle multiple tasks. 

Conditions: Must be able to work with little or no supervision.
