Social Content Manager

We’re looking for a social content manager to help develop the Democratic Party’s online voice and brand through all social media platforms at the DNC. The ideal candidate has a passion for writing smart, informative content — have previous campaign experience? That’s a plus.

Candidates should be able to write within an established brand identity and quickly be able to switch between voices for various DNC platforms, while contributing ideas for further developing and expanding the DNC’s online content

What You’ll Do:

• Write daily content for the Democrats Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Snapchat platforms, including drafting, conceptualizing videos and graphics, and copywriting
• Monitor real-time social traffic to identify moments and online conversations that we should participate in
• Ensure that the DNC’s digital presence represents organizational priorities effectively, including working with progressive allies and outside groups to encourage supporters to take action with timely and on-message content
• Collaborate to develop weekly content calendars and anticipate needs for larger outbound products
• Work internally with teammates and other departments to execute one-off social campaigns and rapid response social content
• Help develop and produce reporting on audience growth and content performance that can adapt to and meet the needs of stakeholders across the DNC

About You - To be successful in this role, you:

• Are an excellent writer, with a passion for creating sharp, quick online content
• Have previous experience writing social media content for a campaign, advocacy group, or other progressive organization
• Are self-motivated with an ability to work within a team and across a variety of departments, including a knack for recognizing how to insert the Democrats’ message into timely and/or trending topics and conversations
• Are familiar with Facebook insights and Twitter analytics. Other social media analytics experience a plus
• Have a strong attention to detail, including reviewing other coworkers’ work
• Think well on your feet and have strong time management skills
• Understand that the internet isn’t always a 9-5 job and are comfortable with after-hours and weekend responsibilities
• Are passionate about electing Democrats nationwide, from the school board to the Oval Office
