A targeted general assembly race in Northeastern Illinois has openings for Paid Canvassers through the November 6th election.
Position Description
Paid canvassers serve one of the most important roles in a campaign. During the week and on weekends, canvassers knock on doors in neighborhoods across a district and help introduce their candidate to voters.
This campaign’s canvassers do the following:
· Knock doors for at least 20 hours a week. Hours are flexible – choices include Monday through Thursday evenings, Saturday and Sunday mornings / afternoons
· Enter data for those door knocks
· Pull lists of voters and cut canvassing turf from a database
· Manage teams of volunteers and other canvassers
Requirements / Qualifications
Prior campaign experience is preferred, but not required.
Qualified applicants are excellent communicators, with the ability to think on their feet, be extremely polite, and articulate issue position to voters.
Qualified applicants will demonstrate some proficiency with Microsoft Office – canvassers will use Word and Excel occasionally.
Qualified applicants have full-time access to a car and cell phone, and are capable of working in the evenings and on weekends.
