Julián for the Future (the Campaign) is seeking a dynamic, mission-driven and qualified individual to serve as South Carolina Organizing Director. The Organizing Director will be responsible for building our volunteer base and maintain the energy and engagement of our supporters. This position is based in South Carolina and is eligible for comprehensive health, vision, dental, and life insurance. Relocation assistance is available on a case-by-case basis.


Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Growing our volunteer and low-dollar donor base, and acting as a senior leader to volunteers directly as appropriate
  • Work closely with the State Director and organizing team to establish operational priorities
  • Build a culture of self-accountability - empowering others to own their goals by supporting, inspiring, and collaborating with organizing staff and volunteer leads
  • Developing strategies and systems that lead your team to successfully meet daily and weekly organizing metrics, as well as maintain data integrity
  • Ensure volunteer communications and meetings are well-facilitated and impactful


Requirements

Qualifications include, but are not limited to:

  • Two cycles of organizing experience, preferably experience managing a statewide campaign
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Good attention to detail
  • Self-starter and entrepreneurial spirit
  • Instinct for creative problem-solving
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the political climate in and issues important to South Carolina
  • Good-humored and collegial approach to working with other staff, volunteers, donors
  • Ability to work long and irregular hours, including nights and weekends
  • A valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation
  • Commitment to Julián Castro’s values and be willing to put in the work required to win
