A moderate New York State Assembly Democrat seeks a Campaign Manager for a primary campaign in Queens, position runs through June 23, 2020. The Campaign Manager’s responsibility as a key member of the campaign is to effectively implement the strategy outlined in the campaign plans designed in collaboration with the consultant.
Ideal candidate for Campaign Manager would be able to multitask – ensuring the candidate is using their time efficiently and manage volunteer activities. The Campaign Manager should be comfortable in a fast pace environment and demanding work schedule.
Job Description
The Campaign Manager will take on the following responsibilities:
Campaign Plan: Implement a successful campaign plan that outlines the campaign or campaigns’ efforts through Election Day, including fundraising, canvassing, phoning, volunteer recruitment, district outreach, and social media.
Field: Implement a field plan that involves a mix of volunteers, paid canvass, and community outreach. The Campaign Manager will recruit, train, and manager volunteers for field in addition to supporting field and the campaign. Ideal candidate should be comfortable delegating tasks.
Candidate: Manage the candidate’s time so it is used the most efficiently for voter contact, fundraising, endorsements, and community events. When appropriate, liaise between candidate and consultant.
Press & Media: Serve as the campaign contact for media. Coordinate with consultant in drafting press releases and prepare candidate for press opportunities. Manage and update social media presence.
Qualifications:
- 1-2 cycles of campaign experience
- Field experience
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Time management skills
- Ability to multitask
- Having a car a plus
