Campaign Manager



Nick Wilkinson currently serves the City of Chattanooga as the Director for Economic Development and plans to announce his bid for the TN General Assembly later this month. The Nick Wilkinson for Senate Campaign is hiring a Campaign Manager, who will be responsible for creating and implementing a detailed campaign plan and managing the daily operations of the campaign.


About Nick


Since joining the Berke Administration in 2013, Nick has worked tirelessly to recruit jobs, support small businesses, and provide excellent customer service to the citizens of Chattanooga. Prior to serving the City, Nick was the development director for a local nonprofit that helped to build stronger neighborhoods and provide more affordable housing.


About TN Senate 10


Senate District 10 is currently held by Todd Gardenhire, who has a track record of disrespecting constituents and voting against the best interest of his District on key issues like Medicaid expansion. It is approximately 170,000 people and has an average turnout of 64,000 voters in Presidential election years. Senate District 10 includes southern Hamilton (Chattanooga, East Ridge, Collegedale) and Bradley (Cleveland) Counties.



The ideal candidate is a self starter with a positive attitude and a commitment to the future of Tennessee.


Responsibilities include:


  • Developing a campaign plan

  • Developing a fundraising strategy with the candidate

  • Managing candidate’s schedule

  • Developing campaign messaging and communications strategy

  • Staffing the candidate during call time and managing donor relations

  • Identifying, training, organizing volunteer teams

  • Planning and executing team trainings

  • Building relationships with community leadership

  • Meeting or exceeding all goals related to finance, field, and media


The ideal candidate for this position will have the following qualifications:


  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to successfully relate to donors, voters, and volunteers from a wide range of backgrounds

  • Must be able to work independently and in team settings

  • Must be able to work long and irregular hours as needed

  • A good sense of humor and a strong interest in and commitment to public service

  • Basic computer literacy and database skills

  • Must have a car and driver's license



This full time position will start as soon as possible and end November 18, 2016. The compensation will be commensurate with experience.
