Campus Vote Project Florida Campus Coordinator:
Campus Vote Project (CVP) was launched in
2012 by the nonpartisan Fair
Elections Legal Network (FELN) to expand our work on
student voting issues. We work with
universities, community colleges, faculty, students, and election officials to
reduce barriers to student voting. Our
goal is to help campuses institutionalize reforms that empower students with
the information they need to register and vote.
Position Description
Campus Vote Project seeks a State Campus Coordinator for Florida. The State Campus Coordinator is a key member
of our team. They are charged with growing existing and establishing new,
lasting relationships with campus leadership to carry out our goals (stated
below). They also supervise student
fellows promoting democratic engagement programs on their campus working with
administration and faculty, helping organize student voter registration, and
voter education activities.
Goals
of the Program:
- Engage
campuses at an institutional level to drive nonpartisan civic engagement
programs in 2016 that promote voter registration and ballot access and
reach across the campus community.
- Ensure
campus administrators, faculty, and student leadership are provided with
accurate nonpartisan information and conduct programs on-campus across
voter registration, voter education, and ballot access/GOTV to begin
institutionalizing and cultivating a longer term culture of democratic
engagement on the campuses.
- Implement
CVP’s program with 8 campus partners and 11 student fellows across these
campuses.
- Conduct
outreach to activate an additional 6-8 campuses.
- Coordinate
with a number of CVP’s coalition partners also conducting nonpartisan
civic engagement programs on campuses. The State Campus Coordinator
will continue to engage with these partners and make CVP materials and
resources available to help foster greater
administrator/institutional-level engagement of these partners’ programs
and with student programs.
Requirements:
- Access
to a car as travel throughout the state will be required
- History
of organizing work either on campuses or with campaigns
- Experience
engaging diverse constituencies and experience with institutions of higher
education a benefit
- Superior
communication skills both written and oral

This position is full time through November 2016. Salary based
on experience.
