We’re looking for an inspiring Organizing Coordinator to join the dream team! California Calls is alliance of social justice organizations across the state working to achieve real, lasting progressive tax reform by transforming the electorate to better reflect the diversity of our state’s population and to change the way we think and talk about government. Organizing is the heart and soul of our work.
You’ll need to have a passion for organizing and a hunger to learn. You’ll be part of a team guided by rigorous, strategic planning and thoughtful analysis and evaluation. Since you’ll be helping run ground-breaking statewide organizing campaigns, you’ve got to be obsessed with the details and relentless in pursuing our overall goals.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Overall responsibility for achieving agreed on alliance goals in designated region, in collaboration with regional anchors, participating organizations, and alliance staff:
· Assist local Anchor Organizations with developing and implementing effective, integrated local organizing plans.
· Developing strong relationships with Anchor Organizations to build excitement and ownership for the success of the work and to ensure transparency and accountability for the success of agreed upon plans.
· Work with CA Calls Staff and anchor groups to develop training plans and ensure that Anchors are getting agreed on infrastructure support.
Help plan and execute large-scale statewide Civic Engagement Programs
· Assist local Anchor Organizations with developing goals and operational plans to successfully achieve their contribution to the statewide Civic Engagement Program.
· Help develop training plans and support systems to ensure the success of statewide Civic Engagement Programs.
· Provide on-site support and training as needed to ensure success.
· Assist with implementing data-driven Voter Targeting, Analysis, and Evaluation systems.
Help develop cutting-edge strategies to build power and change the power equation in California, including:
· Statewide Organizing to Build a formal Political Base
· Training and Political Education plans and materials
· Statewide Grassroots Leadership Development Programs
Skills and Experience:
· Experience with Electoral/ Civic Engagement Organizing
· Demonstrated ability to work with a diversity of people, organizations, communities, and cultures.
· Computer skills: strong knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, database and multimedia presentation software.
· Excellent analytical skills and written and verbal communication skills.
· Bilingual (English-Spanish) skills highly desirable.
Basic Qualifications:
§ Three (3) years community and/or labor organizing
§ Bilingual skills highly desirable
§ Comfortable giving presentations
§ Strong commitment to social justice work
Salary and Benefits:
§ $60,000-$65,000 dependent upon experience
§ Generous benefits including medical, dental, paid vacation
