Senate Victory, the arm of the Florida Democratic Party responsible for running state Senate campaigns, is seeking Regional Coordinators for the 2016 cycle. With redistricting nearly complete, Senate Victory will be running the largest operation in its history. This listing is for the Miami Regional Coordinator and will require relocation to Miami-Dade County immediately.
The ideal candidate is a self-starter who is able to work independently in a goal-oriented environment. Regional Coordinators will be responsible for supervising voter contact efforts, serving as the liaison between Senate Victory and targeted state Senate campaigns in South Florida, and maintaining political relationships in their assigned regions. This is a full-time, on-salary staff position; we are not seeking consultants and no outside employment is permitted. This position reports directly to the Senate Victory Political Director and Field Director.
Responsibilities will include:
Supervising all field staff including field organizers and paid canvassers in respective regions
Hiring field staff
Administrative duties as necessary
Supervising and sustaining a volunteer structure
Maintaining relationships with local party infrastructure
Implementing voter targets developed by Senate Victory’s Field Director
Creation of a comprehensive voter registration program
Creation of a comprehensive vote by mail program
Daily reporting of all metrics both electronically and via conference call
Direct supervisor of two to four state Senate campaigns
Assisting campaign managers in management of candidates, communications plan and budgeting
Coordination with up and down-ballot races in the respective region
Qualifications:
At least one cycle of field experience required; two preferred
Fluency in Spanish is strongly preferred
A baccalaureate degree
Expertise in Votebuilder required
Understanding of Microsoft Excel required
Ability to accomplish many tasks simultaneously
Reliable personal transportation
Ability to deal with varied personalities and competing priorities
Sense of humor and perspective necessary
No egos or self-promoters
Professional appearance and ease interacting with elected officials
Experience supervising a large staff
Excellent written and verbal skills
Willingness to work nights, weekends and long, irregular hours
