Jewish Currents is a 72 year old magazine in the midst of a significant and exciting expansion. The Web Developer/Designer will work with the Lead Designer to develop and launch our new website.

Project Description

The Jewish Currents website is currently on Wordpress. The redesign will involve choosing a new Wordpress theme and redesigning the site based on that structure. Most of the "design" portion will be done by, and lead by the Lead Designer. The Web Developer/Designer will be responsible for a development portion including UX, transferring to a new theme within Wordpress, minor development changes, final bug fixes, and launching the final site.

The Web Developer/Designer will begin by building out a site map and doing UX for a handful of pages. The next step will be transferring the current site to a new theme template, and doing minor development changes to that theme to meet a few custom needs as they arise. This will also include bug fixes as problems arise. Lastly, the developer will launch the site and ensure everything is working properly.

Design

It would be a plus if the developer also has experience designing web pages. The primary designer will be designing the branding, look and feel to the website, but will need help building out additional page types.

Compensation
