  Senior Director, WOMEN VOTE!

 

EMILY’s List, the nation’s largest financial resource for women candidates, is searching for a Senior Director, WOMEN VOTE! to join the WOMEN VOTE! team. This is a cycle only position.  Throughout its 30 year history, the organization has recruited and trained over 9,000 women to run, worked to elect 110 pro-choice Democratic women to the House, 19 to the Senate, 11 governors, and over 700 women to state and local office. EMILY’s List has also helped elect every single Latina, African American, and Asian American Democratic Congresswoman currently serving.

 

Principal Responsibilities

 

The Senior Director, WOMEN VOTE! manages EMILY’s List’s independent expenditure strategy, budget and operations for EMILY’s List.   The Senior Director, WOMEN VOTE! is a senior position and works hand in hand with the Deputy Executive Director on strategic planning and decisions.

 

Specific Duties

 

• Design and execute independent expenditure campaigns for EMILY’s List endorsed candidates for Senate, House, statewide and state legislative offices; 
• Work with the Executive Director & Deputy Executive Director to allocate resources to win races;
• Serve as the liaison to the independent progressive community nationally and in the states to coordinate spending and maximize resources to EMILY’s List races;
• Hire and manage consultant teams (pollster, media, mail, digital etc.) for independent expenditure campaigns; 
• Work with EMILY’s List President & fundraising team to raise money for WOMEN VOTE! programs;
• Provide information and talking points on WOMEN VOTE! programs and research to other EMILY’s List departments and staffers as needed;
• Serve as a resource to EMILY’s List by collecting, developing and disseminating research, trends and best practices on persuading and mobilizing women voters;
• Work with EMILY’s List lawyers to ensure that all communications meet federal and/or state legal requirements;
• Hire and manage department staff;
• Develop and monitor departmental budget;
• Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

 

The ideal candidate must possess extensive campaign experience, including experience interpreting polling data, managing paid communications and managing consultants.  Experience with independent campaign activity (not coordinated with a candidate) strongly desired.  College degree and an interest in electing pro-choice Democratic women required.

 

This is a cycle hire position with an end date of 12/31/2016.
