The League of Conservation Voters (LCV) works to turn environmental values into national, state and local priorities. LCV, in collaboration with our state LCV partners, advocates for sound environmental laws and policies, holds elected officials accountable for their votes and actions, and elects pro-environment candidates who will champion our priority issues.
The Donor Advocacy and Events Associate is an important member in a top-notch team of fundraising professionals. This position supports and works closely with the Senior Director and Manager to produce high quality special events and major donor programming around the country. This position offers an opportunity to grow fundraising skills with one of the top progressive development operations and work for one of the country’s foremost environmental groups.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with the Senior Director and Manager to coordinate all aspects of LCV’s major donor fundraising events, donor focused programs, and candidate fundraising receptions.
- Draft and coordinate communications for events, including host and honorary committee letters, invitations, programs, special guest outreach, acknowledgments, and post-event follow up.
- Research and coordinate logistics with venues and vendors.
- Work with the Database Manager to organize event outreach lists and maintain accurate information in donor database.
- Serve as point person for event invitees, hosts, and vendors.
- Maintain all event data tracking, including registration, seating, and special requests.
- Maintain event budgets and process all vendor payments.
- Design event web pages and online event donation forms, work closely with Membership and Online Engagement department.
- Staff events and build strong relationships with Board of Directors, donors, and speakers.
- Maintain compliance records for PAC events and assist with compliance efforts as necessary.
- Manage event department email and outreach calendar.
- Manage a database of potential event speakers, track all speaker requests.
- Maintain and order supplies for events as needed.
- Contribute to overall development team efforts with other projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education: College degree required.
Work experience: At least one year of work experience required and experience working in a political organization or campaign desirable; database experience preferred.
Skills: Strong written and oral communications skills, excellent skills in word processing and spreadsheets. Attentive to details, and adept at developing and maintaining systems.
Capabilities: Extremely organized; critical thinking skills; a sense of teamwork and community; ability to handle multiple tasks, work for several people and thrive in a fast paced setting; commitment to environmental protection and mission of LCV; great sense of humor.
Conditions: Able to work occasional overtime to get the job done.
