Earth Day Network is hiring a full-time Outreach Coordinator leading up and through Earth Day 2017 (position will end May 1 2017). This is an exciting opportunity as we are in a pivotal moment for environmental protection in the US and around the world. The Outreach Coordinator will be critical to executing both global events and the DC specific event.


Specific Responsibilities:

  • Create an outreach plan with the Earth Day Director.
  •  Support Earth Day Network’s global network of organizations including but not limited to: environmental issues; youth groups; faith organizations; social justice groups and higher education.
  •   Assist in the development and distribution of Earth Day event toolkits for external partners.
  • Coordinate interns work to execute outreach plan.
  • Contribute to the coordination, resource development, and planning of events and activities.
  • Engage in the day-to-day operations of Earth Day Network, including meetings, correspondence, and events.

Qualifications:

  •        Previous experience in public outreach and/or public engagement
  •        A strong interest in and knowledge of current environmental issues at the domestic and international level
  •        Excellent writing and communication skills
  •      Campaign experience is a plus
  • ·      International background or experience and a second language are a plus

This is a full-time temporary position at Earth Day Network’s Washington, DC headquarters. The position concludes May 1, 2017. There may be a possibility of an extension.
