We are looking for a passionate and energetic individual to join our team at Josh Hicks for Congress, as Deputy Political Director.

Josh is running in the same district where Lt. Col. Amy McGrath came within 3 points of winning in 2018 — this district is one of the top opportunities to flip a US House seat from Red to Blue in 2020. (Amy is now running against Mitch McConnell and Josh is the only Democrat running for this Congressional seat.)

About the candidate

Josh Hicks grew up on a farm in rural Kentucky and dropped out of college to enlist in the US Marine Corps, deploying twice and rising to the rank of Sergeant. He then joined the Maysville Police Department, at the same time going back to school and completing his undergrad degree at Morehead State University (working nights at weekends at the police department), and then graduated from the University of Kentucky College of Law. Josh is running for Congress to give a voice to regular folks, to make sure that people can afford to put food on the table and gas in their truck. His legislative priorities are fighting the opioid epidemic, ensuring access to healthcare, and ending corruption in Washington. More information about Josh is available at joshhicksforcongress.com.

About the role

The Deputy Political Director will assist with political outreach (setting up meetings, call, etc.) as well as event scheduling and management. Ideal applicants for this role will be very well organized (able to multitask, balance competing priorities, and keep track of details), hard working, and great at relationship building and maintenance. Some campaign experience in political or field will be helpful, but other professional background may be sufficient. This is a full-time, paid position, based in Lexington, Kentucky.
