The PDI­Q is a comprehensive data and software product that merges the national Catalist voter file with software tools and data created by PDI. We are seeking an engaging problem solver, who can get things done. This system combines voter data, contacts, volunteer, events, members, direct voter contact tools, and more into one interactive database that is already being used by many leading national political organizations.

The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated individual with technical, analytical, and good communication skills, as well as a strong interest in progressive politics. Thoroughness, attention to detail, and an understanding of how data informs decisions are important characteristics. Catalist and PDI value creativity and problem­solving.

This position is full time, available immediately and reports to the PDI Director of Online Tools. It is a joint venture between Catalist and Political Data Inc. (PDI) and is primarily located in Washington DC, with occasional travel.


Principle Duties & Responsibilities:

  • ●  Serve as a subject­matter expert on the PDI­Q Application

  • ●  Serve as a subject­matter expert on Catalist data

  • ●  Act as an advanced user of all PDI or Catalist applications and APIs

  • ●  Troubleshoot reported bugs by resolving when possible or escalating to the PDI and

    Catalist Technology and Data teams as needed

  • ●  Facilitate new client onboarding through direct client interactions

  • ●  Serve as the primary resource for end user trainings

  • ●  Update and maintain client­facing documentation including user manuals, tutorials, and

    FAQs

  • ●  Ensure a seamless line of communication between the Catalist and PDI teams

  • ●  Attend/lead joint PDI/Catalist staff meetings to report on and discuss existing client

    issues

  • ●  Attend community events to promote and demo the PDI­Q to interested clients

    Required Skills & Experience:

  • ●  Excellent communication and time management skills

  • ●  Excellent interpersonal skills

  • ●  Ability to translate client issues into internal instructions

  • ●  Previous political campaign/organizing experience

  • ●  Ability to work long campaign hours when needed

  • ●  Creative problem solving and pragmatic attitude


Preferred Qualifications:

  • ●  Working knowledge of other political organizing tools (e.g. NGP/VAN, NationBuilder, Organizer)

  • ●  Experience in campaign management, targeting, or data management

  • ●  Experience providing customer support and training

  • ●  Familiarity with SQL, Access, SPSS, bash, and/or python is a plus, but not required
