RESEARCH DIRECTOR JOB DESCRIPTION
Position: Research Director, Amy McGrath for Senate
Position Summary:
The Research Department conducts opposition research projects, rapid response, and helps the campaign with paid media, polling, policy questions, and other campaign activities. In this fast-paced department, the ability to multi-task while remaining detail-oriented is a must.
Specific Responsibilities Include:
Managing all Research Department activities and staff, guiding the team’s priorities, and contributing to the campaign’s strategic planning;
Producing extensive research documents compiling information from public sources including news clips, campaign finance disclosures, travel records and receipts, personal financial disclosures, property, court, and business records, and research databases, as well as in-depth research analyzing federal, state and local governmental voting records;
Contributing to an aggressive rapid response operation;
Implementing effective approval processes and a culture of political risk management.
Required Skills:
Minimum two cycles of campaign experience in research roles;
Experience employing campaign research in support of polling and paid media operations;
Experience contributing to a robust rapid response effort;
Demonstrated commitment to following sound processes and effectively managing risk.
