SUMMARY
For over three decades, GQR has used sophisticated polling and opinion research to help leading candidates, parties, government leaders, corporations, and advocacy groups across the United States and around the world. We are currently seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented Assistant Analyst to join our Domestic team. This role fluctuates based on staffing and business levels.In busy times, with more juniors on staff, the Assistant Analyst engages more regularly in higher level duties such as drafting memos and reports and analyzing data.In slower periods the Assistant Analyst may be the only junior staff member on a team and thus spends more time on the more routine, entry-level tasks such as proofing and coordinating logistics.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Proofread data and writing for accuracy (banner books, toplines, frequency questionnaires, memos, graphs, presentations, DTS, TTS,)
Provide input on scope of projects and research program
Create initial draft of qualitative and quantitative research specifications (i.e., focus groups, in-depth interviews and survey specifications)
May have opportunities to create first draft of survey questionnaires, focus group guidelines, and in-depth interview guidelines
Potentially assist with analysis of quantitative data (including surveys and regression analysis) and qualitative data (including focus groups and in-depth interviews)
Potentially write initial draft of memos and reports as needed
Work with GQR operations staff to coordinate all facets of research initiatives
Serve as back-up point of contact for clients and deliver materials
Provide feedback to senior staff about various aspects of campaigns and public communications (i.e., direct mail, field plans, television advertising)
Keep abreast of news events and developments with clients and topics pertinent to clients and political issues; ensure that principal is briefed and updated as necessary
Consult with senior staff on strategic and research decisions as necessary
Coordinate invoicing and billing of clients.

Oral presentation skills
Intermediate knowledge in the design, development, and implementation of qualitative and quantitative research methods
Desire to learn how to provide strategic analysis of qualitative and quantitative research
Knowledge of campaign structures and processes
Understanding of various mediums for campaign communications
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in relevant field (including, but not limited to, political science, public policy, international relations, statistics, math, business)
One to three years experience
