The Victory Institute is seeking a Leadership Programs Intern to start immediately. 

 

The Victory Institute identifies, recruits and supports hundreds of LGBT leaders in politics, government, business and advocacy each year. The Leadership Programs intern assists in the recruitment, selection and administration of programs including the Victory Congressional Internship, Presidential Appointments Project, International LGBT Leadership Conference, International Leadership Programs, and Movement Leaders Fellowship, amongst others. Victory interns gain fundamental office skills supporting LGBT leadership development programming, professional coaching from experts in the field, and exposure to leaders in LGBT politics from around the world.

Qualifications

• All academic majors are encouraged to apply. Candidates should possess a general knowledge of the issues facing the LGBT community.
  
• The intern should demonstrate strong written and oral communication skills, attention to detail, creative thinking and independent project management. 
• Solid grasp of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook is necessary.
  
• The internship requires a creative thinker who enjoys the challenge of organizing information in a concise and understandable manner and can find solutions to problems as they arise in the course of maintaining a system of gathering and organizing data.
  
• Competency in a foreign language is strongly preferred, Spanish language skills a plus.
  
• Full-time candidates preferred.
  
• Interns receive a modest stipend.
