Director, Field Campaigns
A progressive political consulting firm based in New York City is seeking an
experienced Canvass Director. We are growing our team ahead of the
upcoming election cycle and seeking a strong leader to direct our voter outreach
operations and other campaign projects as needed.
We know field is often the difference in winning or losing a campaign and we
are looking for a Canvass Director who can excel when given autonomy over a
project, can work well under tight deadlines and has experience building and
motivating teams.
The Role:
• Develop field campaigns including staffing goals, budgets, and outreach plans
• Draft and edit materials to be used in the field
• Report qualitative and quantitative data to the campaign
• Recruit, hire, train, and retain quality canvass directors and
canvassers with daily training and investment programs
• Attention to detail, data integrity, and
quality control is a must
• Collaborate with senior management and campaigns to ensure messaging in
the field tracks the campaign messaging
Skills and Experience:
• Three years experience running or managing field/canvass campaigns with
at least two in electoral campaigns
• Experience managing and supervising a team
• Knowledge of New York politics a plus
• Ability to effectively direct and motivate a team
• Excellent ability to independently problem solve
• Leadership experience, team-building skills and team investment
strategies
• Ability to build strong relationships among a diverse group of people
• Computer proficiency, including VAN, miniVAN, Microsoft Word and Excel,
and Google Suite
• Ability to travel as needed
• Valid drivers license preferred
• Must be able to work campaign hours, nights and weekends
• Ability to speak Spanish is preferred, but
not required
