Josh Hicks for Congress is looking for a motivated, enthusiastic individual to join our campaign as Deputy Finance Director here in Kentucky's Sixth Congressional District. (Other positions in the Finance department are also available, depending on applicants' experience.)
As Deputy Finance Director, your job will be to assist in planning, managing, and executing campaign fundraising activities, mostly including events and related tracking and systems, but potentially also including candidate call time. You may also manage a portion of our team as the department grows. Your responsibilities will include:
Strategy & management
Work with Finance Director to contribute to the overall development of campaign finance plan
Along with Finance Director, manage relationships with national and local supporters
Prepare regular updates on relevant portions of overall fundraising performance
Assist with compliance oversight and management as needed
Manage interns and/or future junior staff
Events
Coordinate with, and coach, fundraiser hosts to ensure their events are successful
Build relationships with event hosts and other major donors
Systematically track data before, during, and after events
Staff the candidate at events
Note: Some travel may be required
Qualifications
At least one cycle of campaign finance experience and/or 2+ years of other relevant professional experience
Top-notch attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment under tight deadlines
Excellent teamwork and communication skills
Strong relationship management skills
Creative problem solving skills, and willingness to experiment
Experience managing staff preferred
Hunger and enthusiasm for high-impact work and significant professional development
Ability to relocate to Lexington, KY, if not already local
