Campaign Coordinator Job Description
Protect Minnesota is hiring a full-time Campaign Coordinator to support our 2020 election work. This position is ideal for a strategic thinker and strong communicator with the ability to manage multiple priorities and a passion for preventing gun violence in the state of Minnesota. This position will report directly to the Executive Director and work closely with the Protect Minnesota Advocacy Fund Board of Directors.
Responsibilities
The Campaign Coordinator will be tasked with working in targeted Minnesota Senate districts where Protect Minnesota has endorsed “Orange Star” candidates. The goal of this position will be to assist in Protect Minnesota’s efforts to flip the Senate into a majority that will pass sensible gun legislation.
· Develop and execute in-district organizing strategies. Organize within targeted districts, both digitally and in-person as necessary, to elect Orange Star candidates.
· Execute direct voter contact goals. With the help of Protect Minnesota’s membership base, meet DVC goals. Methods may include canvassing, phone banking, text banking, and turnout efforts within targeted districts.
· Grow Protect Minnesota’s membership base. Work with the Executive Director to obtain membership-growth goals in each targeted district and oversee membership growth efforts.
· Collaborate with Protect Minnesota partners. Ally with groups that are working within the same targeted districts in order to ensure that Protect Minnesota’s efforts are meaningful.
· Maintain a calendar of outreach events. Attend community events, workshops, and communication and outreach opportunities within the target districts.
· Track grant deliverables. Collaborate with the Executive Director on tracking activities to report to national coalition stakeholders.
Qualifications
Paramount in this position will be the ability to strategically think about where and how to deploy Protect Minnesota’s electoral resources. The capability to clearly communicate to and build relationships with Protect Minnesota members, volunteers, allies, partners, and voters will be equally important. Other qualifications include:
· One or more cycles of field experience with demonstrated results.
· Experience managing volunteers.
· Strong oral and written communication skills.
· Organized and detail-oriented with an ability to manage multiple priorities.
· Previous experience in community organizing and outreach, preferably in Minnesota, preferably with work in the digital space.
· A passion for preventing gun violence in Minnesota and electing legislators who commit to pass sensible gun reform.
Salary
$4,000 monthly through November plus mileage reimbursement.
