The Democracy Program Director will be taking on the most fundamental
issues facing our democracy, from fighting the corrosive influence of
big money in our political system and modernizing voter registration to
increasing civic participation and ending gerrymandering.
U.S. PIRG and our 27 state affiliates have been at the forefront of the
democracy reform movement for over 40 years. With outsized influence
from special interests and barriers to participation in the political
process blocking progress on issue after issue, U.S. PIRG is continuing
to grow its democracy program, winning reforms in statehouses, city
halls, and at the ballot box across the country.

Media Outreach: Serve as a chief spokesperson for our campaigns at media

staff, and meet with major donors. Work with our citizen outreach staff
to build and develop our membership base.
Staff recruitment and development: Recruit new staff and volunteers.
Oversee program staff to develop and implement work plans; provide
training and leadership development opportunities.
