Position/Reporting: Special Projects Coordinator & Assistant to the Chair reports to the Operations Director, with substantial involvement with the Executive Director
Start Date: October 2015 Location: Hartford, CT
Job Description: This position is an important operational role assisting with the day-to-day functions of the State Party.
Responsibilities:
- Answer office phones and direct calls appropriately
- Greet visitors, assess their needs and direct them to appropriate staff
- Keep the office functional – managing the upkeep of office equipment, including copier and printers
- Purchase office products and inventory
- Facilitate scheduling for party leadership and develop preparatory materials for events
- Schedule workspace for third parties and external organizations
- Maintain accurate contact information for Party leaders, elected officials, and campaigns and other key allies
- Support Finance, Communications and Outreach Staff in building and executing events
- Take on special projects as time permits
Qualifications:
- Ability to work long days and irregular hours in a fast paced, high pressure environment
- Positive, energetic attitude
- Strong interpersonal communication skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products required; Working knowledge of database software such as NGP VAN and QuickBooks preferred
- Ability to keep information confidential
- Working knowledge of Google Calendar Platform
- Event experience will be very helpful
- Social media and graphics experience not required but will be considered a benefit
