Digital Designer (DC)

Want to put your creative talents to work for some exciting, top-tier races this cycle? Assemble is looking for a digital designer to help us build out our creative team. As a digital designer, you'll work directly with the creative director and collaborate with our nimble team to make design that moves undecided voters, increases turnout, and helps our clients build winning digital programs. You'll have the chance to tackle a wide variety of projects for a range of clients and get to work at a place invested in skill development and growth.

Assemble is creative digital strategy agency that works with political organizations, issue campaigns, causes, and brands. We offer great benefits such as employer-paid health insurance, unlimited sick days, generous PTO, and commuter benefits. This position is located in Washington, D.C.

Responsibilities:

• Work with the Creative Director to create and execute design concepts ranging from brand identity, advertising, landing pages, email templates and social media graphics
• Collaborate with strategists, copywriters, media planners, and client leads in addition to the rest of the creative team
• At times, work directly with clients
• Help create and manage our agency’s brand

Qualifications:

• Able to work quickly and effectively in Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign
• Quick and nimble – and cool under pressure. Sometimes we only have a few hours to turn around creative for our clients.
• Willing to try new things and learn new skills. We’re looking for someone who sees challenges as an opportunity to learn rather than a nuisance or an obstacle.
• Take deadlines seriously, and occasionally stay late to make them.
• Basic familiarity with HTML and CSS
• Kindness

This will take your application to the top of the pile:

• Video editing skills, especially in Premiere.
• Experience designing motion graphics (Are you an After Effects wizard? We want you.)
• Front-end development skills
• An interest in progressive politics and familiarity with political messaging.
