The Ohio Democratic Party Statewide Coordinated Campaign is seeking to hire a Deputy Voter Protection Director as soon as possible for the 2018 cycle.

Reports to: Voter Protection Director

 

The Deputy will, under the direction of the Voter Protection Director (VPD) and in coordination with the OPTV steering committee, engage in recruitment of volunteers for each tier of the voter protection operation: county counsels, boiler room personnel, poll workers, early vote observers, election day observers, and hotline staff. The organizer will also work closely with the observer credentialing process and engage in ongoing communication with all levels of volunteers. This person will also conduct volunteer trainings in person or through webinars using material developed by the VPD.

 

As the election approaches this person will assist in trouble shooting incidents and barriers to vote and work with other divisions of the party and the coordinated campaign to respond.

 

Proficiency with office or similar required. Experience with the VAN, LBJ, or similar systems a plus. Must be comfortable speaking with attorneys and those in affiliated careers, but need not be an attorney themselves. Knowledge or experience in organizing or with Ohio election laws preferred.

 

The position would operate out of Columbus with little to no travel through out the state. This is a full time temporary position with paid status ending in mid-November 2018. Salary is competitive for the roll in context of a campaign and benefits are available.
