We are committed to radical transparency and fairness, and are steadfast in our work to share Pete's vision with the country. We don't stand for harassment or discrimination of any kind.

We are looking for an established HR professional to join our growing People team. In this role you will be a positive driver of campaign culture, creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for all PFAers. You will be a go-to resource for compliance, payroll, and benefits, bringing a personable and confidential approach to your work. This role is perfect for someone who is equally passionate about Pete’s policies and a well organized spreadsheet. You love checking things off a list and helping build something truly unique.

Mayor Pete is a different type of candidate, and we are a different kind of team. Our goals require collaboration across all departments and our structure facilitates that.

What you’ll do:

    • Partner with the People team and campaign leadership to drive company culture, support retention and ensure a fulfilling employee experience
    • Provide timely and thoughtful responses for all HR inquiries
    • Collaborate with others to onboard new PFAers with a focus on compliance, paperwork, and benefits
    • Administer and manage healthcare benefits, acting as first go-to for assistance and guidance
    • Assist in setting up and running payroll
    • Provide guidance on and help shape campaign policies and processes
    • Develop and implement trainings as needed

What we're looking for:

    • 5 or more years in HR, most recently in a leadership role
    • Experience managing both strategic and tactical HR tasks on a campaign
    • Solid understanding of payroll practices, state tax registrations, and general compliance practices
    • Working knowledge of compliance and/or local state law
    • Outstanding organizational and follow-through skills
    • Ability to connect and collaborate with all types of people
    • Entrepreneurial spirit, if you see something that can be improved, go for it!
    • A genuine value for diversity of experiences and voices and interest in building something different
    • HR-related certification a huge plus
