DLCC: Events Coordinator

 

Be a part of the team that will be instrumental to the Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee (DLCC) taking back our state legislatures and—by winning crucial redistricting fights— remaking the U.S. Congress to

re-enfranchise millions of voters and end the GOP single party rule that’s paralyzing our government.

 

Our task is no less than to teach a generation of voters about the central role their state legislatures play in their day-to-day lives, and in the shaping of the country.

 

The mission is to win Democratic majorities and build Democratic power in state legislatures.

 

Role

 

The Events Coordinator plans and executes all the DLCC’s fundraising and organization-wide events. The Events Coordinator manages all aspects of event budgets, while keeping costs at or below given budget. The Events Coordinator is expected to be innovative and creative, risk tolerant and results-focused.

 

The Events Coordinator reports to the Development Director and is located in Washington, DC. This position requires travel and work outside of standard business hours.

Responsibilities

 

  • Manage all aspects of organizational and department-specific event planning, including logistical details related to website landing and sign up pages, RSVP lists, materials, run of show, venue and catering management;
  • Drive and own the timeline for the event communication plan and drafting and approval of all event copy, including event emails, landing pages, confirmations, acknowledgements, and invitations to speakers and special guest;
  • Identify, research and make recommendations for all potential event venues for both small and large events and secure space;
  • Negotiate contracts with hotels, rental venues, caterers, and transportation companies;
  • Own event execution, including setting up and breaking down of all DLCC events;
  • Manage the invitation creation process; including coordinating with the Digital team to schedule and send event emails using the Digital CRM;
  • Work in partnership with outside events consultants, as needed;
  • Create online event registration and content pages for all relevant DLCC events;
  • Manage all aspects of event RSVP, including hotel room blocks, event registration fees and maintenance of event attendee records within NGP;
  • Create and own the critical path and run of show for each DLCC event;
  • Coordinate travel arrangements for DLCC staff and special guests, when necessary;
  • Create staff assignments and supervise throughout events;
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Expected Outcomes

 

  • All DLCC events are executed with the same set of organizational standards.
  • DLCC events are on or under budget.
  • Attendees of DLCC events have a high level of satisfaction, finding events to be well executed and impactful.
  • All events support the broader DLCC by growing legislative engagement, raising more money and expanding the community of support.

 

Qualifications

 

2-4 years of experience in events management, fundraising, or a related field.
