Terra Strategies is seeking qualified, highly motivated individuals to fill the role of Field HR Specialist.Field HR Specialists serve an important role on each project to ensure compliance with all HR and Operations policies and procedures on the ground.

Terra Strategies is a national public affairs and political consulting firm that specializes in direct voter contact on behalf of progressive candidates and causes. Terra Strategies’ partners and principals have decades of combined experience with campaigns of all shapes and sizes, from the DSCC and DCCC to national issue advocacy campaigns and municipal races.

Field HR Specialists are responsible for reviewing and processing background screens for potential applicants, reviewing and processing new hire paperwork, reviewing and submitting weekly payroll,and supporting HQ with processing HR and Operations requests on the ground. HR or campaign experience is preferred.Field HR Specialists report directly to the National Operations Director.

Applicants for the position must possess strong organizational and communication skills, as well as the ability to multitask and meet deadlines. They must also be willing to relocate as necessary,possess reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license. The willingness to work extended hours and weekends is also required.

Field HR Specialist Responsibilities

• Pre-Employment Screens
  
• Reviewing background screens for completion and accuracy. Verifying necessary information with applicants as needed.
  
• Submitting background screens for processing.
  
• Hire Paperwork and Payroll Management
  
• Reviewing new hire paperwork for completion and accuracy.
  
• Reporting new hire information for enrollment in payroll processing system.
  
• Assisting new hires access the employee portal.
  
• Ensuring all shifts are accurately reported and reviewed for weekly payroll processing.
  
• Providing HQ with daily quantitative reports regarding new hires.
  

• Office Operations
  

• Conducting weekly supply inventories and request orders.
• 
  

Desired Skills and Experience

Experience

• A minimum of one cycle of campaign experience.
  
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Google Docs.
  
• Previous payroll experience is a plus.
  
• HR experience is a plus.
