REGIONAL FIELD DIRECTOR

FULL TIME • STARTS ASAP • COMPETITIVE PAY • EXCELLENT BENEFITS • NEW HAMPSHIRE

Democracy for America, with over 1.2 million members around the country, is launching an audacious effort in partnership with our good friends at MoveOn.org, the 8-million-strong grassroots progressive organization, to build Run Warren Run, a massive drive to urge Elizabeth Warren to run for president. We’ve been building a crack team of brilliant organizers to build a grassroots brushfire that can’t be ignored.

You’ll be building the foundation of a presidential campaign for someone who has said she’s not running for president. But this is also an amazing job. A potentially world-changing job. This political moment was made for Elizabeth Warren. The defining fights of Warren’s life are now some of the defining economic issues in American politics: inequality, the corrupting power of big money in our governing process, and a system rigged to benefit the powerful, leaving the middle class and working families behind. Warren only ran for the U.S. Senate after a grassroots “draft Warren” campaign showed her that she’d have the support she needed, and convinced her that joining the race was the best way for her to make a difference. Your job is to show her that the same thing is true today, on a larger stage.

Your role is to build a grassroots army in New Hampshire that shows Elizabeth Warren that if she runs, she could win—and that she’ll have a movement by her side. This means recruiting, training and supporting teams of skilled leaders all across the state, building the drumbeat of local and national press, and talking with voters about the need for a vibrant presidential primary and the potential power of an Elizabeth Warren presidency.

Democracy for America has spent the past decade elevating progressive champions and winning, and this is an opportunity to do it again and change the game in 2016.

Here’s what you’ll do:

  • Work with the best grassroots volunteers and develop their leadership. Between Democracy for America and MoveOn, we have tens of thousands of incredible members across New Hampshire–you’ll get to organize them.

  • Build coalitions, recruit local allies and community leaders

  • Create and implement a statewide field plan, building a volunteer infrastructure necessary to lead a winning campaign

  • Recruit, train and manage a team of leaders in the field who can drive a successful state-wide program

  • Coach, and support teams of volunteers across all counties in the state.

  • Plan and execute trainings; and support grassroots leaders to become skilled organizers themselves.

  • Ensure that across the state/region there are regular visibility events, house meetings, and creative days of action.

  • Ensure that data is utilized properly, recording results, creating proper survey questions, using advance targeting methods, etc.

  • Support campaign media work as needed, often preparing spokespeople to share their stories with local and national press

  • Support local political outreach and relationship-building with allies and stakeholders

Desired skills and experience:

  • Demonstrated ability to build, manage and lead a team

  • Can inspire staff and volunteers with a vision for the Run Warren Run campaign, for presidential politics, and for the role of grassroots leadership in our democracy.

  • Strong management and leadership experience in previous field organizing campaigns

  • Proven recruitment skills, with experience identifying, training, and motivating teams of grassroots volunteers and leaders.

  • Ability to delegate work and ensure objectives are met in rapid-response environments while intentionally developing the skills of team members and volunteers

  • Commitment to progressive change, awesome work ethic, and high degree of professionalism.

  • Strong communication and relational skills, and a solutions-oriented ability to work collaboratively

  • Experience with basic online organizing principles, and able to integrating virtual systems to drive on-the-ground campaign goals

  • Excellent analytical and data management skills

  • Self-motivated and able to be effective working independently in an organization whose staff work remotely

Logistics
