Communications Director needed for Manhattan Borough President Campaign 

Join an incredible team working to elect Mark Levine as Manhattan's next Borough President. Mark is a proven progressive who is a leading voice in the fight for affordable housing and has worked to protect tenants rights, responsible development and equity in schools, transit, parks and healthcare. 

We're looking for a Communications Director to create and execute a press and digital strategy. The ideal candidate will have experience with local press, social media and/or digital organizing. Policy experience and/or interest a plus. 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Implement strategic communications plans including earned and social media

  • Serve as liaison with the media. Proactively pitch stories and respond to inquiries

  • Write and edit media advisories, press releases, statements, op-eds, speeches, and other communications

  • Monitor, track and share news media daily

  • Prepare the Candidate for interviews and public speaking

  • Handle special projects

Requirements:

Press, social media or digital organizing experience 

Campaign experience

Salary: $5,000/month
