A position as a Finance Director is available with a progressive Minnesota statewide 2018 candidate.
Minimum Qualifications: An applicant must have at least these qualifications.
Strong commitment to Democratic values.
At least 2 cycles of political fundraising experience is preferred, though other fundraising experience will be considered.
Excellent time management, planning, and organizational skills.
Detail-oriented and able to prioritize and manage multiple projects
Ability to work well with a growing team of staff and volunteers.
Experience with Votebuilder, NGP, and other campaign and finance databases.
Must have a car, car insurance, and driver’s license (position will require travel around the state).
Must have laptop and cell phone with appropriate ability to complete all tasks needed.
An understanding of Minnesota state election and campaign finance law.
Preferred Qualifications: These additional qualifications, while not absolutely essential, are highly preferred, and will significantly elevate an application:
Experience in fundraising either (a) as paid staff or as a titled volunteer on a campaign for public office; or (b) as staff for a party organization or a coordinated campaign; or (c) as paid staff or as a titled volunteer for a political or non-profit, labor or other progressive organizations.
Experience in and knowledge of the political landscape and key people/organizations in Minnesota is a plus.
The finance director will report to the campaign manager and/or candidate.
Compensation: Commensurate with experience.
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement fundraising strategy and calendar.
Plan, schedule, and manage fundraising events.
Develop call lists with candidate of potential donors and structure call time.
Draft fundraising letters and phone scripts.
Assist candidate with completion/distribution of fundraising letters and with making fundraising calls.
Ensure all donors are thanked and re-solicited.
Ensure all mechanisms of the campaign maintain compliance with all regulatory requirements.
Assist in developing relationships with donors and groups to achieve campaign funding goals.
Coordinate in online marketing strategies with the campaign team.
Manage finance database and build strategies to expand donor base.
Work with the campaign to achieve fundraising goals to meet budget requirements.
Track fundraising goals and adjust finance plan to accomplish goals
