Field Organizer, Congressional Race

Democratic CA Congressional Candidate, Brynne Kennedy, seeks experienced organizers for a groundbreaking voter contact program in a high-Turnout district that was nationally targeted in 2018 and will be one of the state’s most competitive house races this cycle. Field organizers are the boots on the ground who make the campaign run. This position is perfect for someone looking to get their first job on a political campaign. 

Responsibilities:

• Oversee direct voter contact in your assigned turf: digital canvassing, phone banking, text banking for persuasion and turnout efforts. 

• Recruit and train volunteers 

• Build and manage volunteer leadership teams

• Build relationships with local activists, county parties, outside groups, and others to assemble a coalition to aid in field outreach 

• Be a representative for the campaign at virtual Democratic club meetings, local events, and more. 

• This position requires extensive nights and weekends 

Skills: 

• Extremely organized and detail oriented, even in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and tight deadlines 

• Strong time management skills, and capability to work independently or on teams as needed 

• Highly creative and comfortable adjusting tactics to hit aggressive goals 

• Prior campaign experience—as a volunteer or staff member—is a plus but not necessary for this role 

• In-district or in-California political experience a plus 

Reports to: Regional Field Director 

Salary is $3,000/month, with a stipend for healthcare and for gas/travel.
