ABOUT US

The Chesapeake Climate Action Network (CCAN) is the only group in the Chesapeake region of Maryland, Virginia and Washington D.C. dedicated exclusively to building a powerful grassroots movement to fight climate change. Our mission is to build the kind of movement it will take to put our region on the path to climate stability, while using our proximity to the nation’s capital to inspire action in neighboring states, around the country and around the world.

JOB OPPORTUNITIES

1. Senior Virginia Grassroots Coordinator: This is a brand new position and perfect for someone who has experience managing other organizers, wants to work in one of the most politically important states in the US, and loves field strategy. They’ll be working with our VA team to fight for the commonwealth’s first ever clean energy mandate.

2. Maryland Campaign Coordinator: This is perfect for someone who loves organizing and is also excited to dig into state policies and regulations. They’ll be our main campaigner and organizer on our efforts in Maryland to keep fossil fuels in the ground and its infrastructure at bay, and to help communities navigate those fights and bring more clean energy to their towns and cities.

3. Hampton Roads Organizer: Our priority is to fill the Senior position first, but if you know of any superstar organizers with 1-3 years’ experience who want to work on the frontlines of climate change, please send them this job! This organizer is in charge of organizing communities throughout the Hampton Roads region, focusing on building support in this climate-vulnerable area for our ambitious campaigns.
