2018 Congressional Campaign Program – Field Organizer, Congressional District 10
Salary Range: Commensurate with Experience
Location: Stanislaus County and San Joaquin County Areas
Position Summary:
The California Democratic Party seeks a Field Organizer in Congressional District 10 for the CDP 2018 Congressional Campaign Program. The Field Organizer works under the direction of the Field Director to implement the field program plan, including but not limited to implementing direct voter contact program(s), coalition building and outreach, and volunteer recruitment and management. Strong self-direction and the ability to take initiative are also necessary qualifications. The position is based in Congressional District 10, which includes Stanislaus County and parts of San Joaquin County areas. The position reports to the Congressional District 10 Field Director of the CDP 2018 Congressional Campaign Program.
Key Responsibilities:
- Organize and manage direct voter contact activities, including phone banking, canvassing, voter registration, and community events
- Recruit, train, manage, and mobilize volunteer and grassroots networks for field organizing and voter contact
- Support and continue to build coalition partnerships and networks focusing on Democratic base-building and flipping the Congressional District blue
- Working and communicating regularly with the CDP Congressional Campaign Program team
- Serve as a CDP regional campaign representative to the community, including giving presentations to groups and testimony to support the program goals and needs
- Keep consistent records of meetings, events, contacts, and work schedule on centralized calendar
- May require frequent travel within and near the Congressional District
- Other related duties as required
Qualities and Qualification Requirements:
- A minimum of 2 election cycles of relevant field or community organizing/advocacy experience preferred
- Organizational skills and ability to meet goals and strict deadlines
- Proficiency in voter database systems, such as PDI or Votebuilder
- Understanding of voter targeting, metrics, and data management
- Proficiency in computer skills
- Deadline-oriented and detail-oriented while working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Experience in volunteer recruitment and management
- Strong task management aptitude and/or demonstrated skills
- Strong public speaking, writing, and analytical skills
- Experience with social media, online organizing strategies, and content development a plus
- Bilingual skills a plus
