FIELD ORGANIZER
The ODP Future Fund is seeking a seasonal full-time Field Organizer for the remainder of the 2018 election cycle. This person will engage Democratic voters in targeted regions.
The ideal candidate is committed to building a better future by electing Democrats. They have a proven ability to stay organized and take initiative. This position is a chance to get involved and create change in Oklahoma. Individuals from marginalized communities are encouraged to apply.
About the Oklahoma Democratic Party Future Fund
The Oklahoma Democratic Party has established a Coordinated Campaign for the first time since 2004. The campaign is known as the Oklahoma Future Fund. This campaign has a single goal: finding and turning out Democratic voters.
Job Responsibilities
The Field Organizer reports to the Field Director and is responsible for:
- · Recruiting, training, and supervising volunteers from diverse backgrounds
- · Organizing voter contact efforts
- · Building and maintaining relationships with community leaders
- · Positively representing the ODP and Democratic candidates
- · Maintaining accurate data by utilizing tools like NGP VAN
Required Skills & Traits
We are seeking candidates who are organized and excel in relationship building and taking initiative. You should have:
- · A valid driver’s license and full-time access to an insured vehicle
- · A track record of strong working relationships with diverse individuals
- · Experience working across lines of difference and proven ability to acknowledge privilege
- · A demonstrated ability to give and receive direction
- · The proven ability to remain organized in a changing environment
- · Experience taking initiative and being a self-starter
Preferred Skills & Traits
Candidates with the following skills and traits are preferred:
- · Experience using VAN
- · Experience volunteering or working on a political campaign
