DEPUTY POLITICAL DIRECTOR

 

The Florida Democratic Party (FDP) is seeking a Deputy Political Director. As the premier battleground state in the country, Florida could determine the next President of the United States and the balance of power in the U.S. Senate.  The Deputy Political Director will join the leadership team to energize and empower local communities, recruit and train candidates for office, and help deliver Democratic victories up and down the ticket.  

The Deputy Political Director is responsible for:

 

Responsibilities include:

-          Advising the Deputy Executive Director on municipal, state level and federal campaigns

-          Developing and executing the political outreach plan for constituency groups and stakeholders

      Supporting 2016 campaigns with strategic planning and tactical training

-          Facilitating training and development of Party activists

      Working with other FDP departments to strengthen FDP’s relationships with key stakeholders, local leaders and elected officials

      Building a strong party for future years and election cycles

-         Other assigned duties

 

Qualifications and Skills:

-          At least two cycles on issue or electoral campaigns, with one cycle managing staff. Field, outreach or organizing experience preferred.

-          Excellent communication skills, including public speaking

-          Good time management skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

-          Working knowledge of Florida political, electoral and legislative processes

-          Willing to work extensive hours, including nights and weekends with some travel

-          Committed to details, results, meeting goals, and consistent improvement

-          Ability to approach problem solving with creativity and initiative

-          Experience working collaboratively with elected officials, candidates, community groups, and/or allied organizations

-          High level of personal and professional integrity

-          Experience with Votebuilder a plus but not required
